BCSL Awarded £29,965!
Working together with the Plunkett Foundation in Woodstock, we submitted an application to Big Potential, a Big Lottery Fund grant programme that is managed by Social Investment business. Big Potential helps organisations such as Bledington Shop and Café strengthen our capacity to attract and secure external finance and to deliver greater social impact.
Our application has been successful, and we have been awarded a grant of £29,965. The objectives of the project are to: develop our business plans and systems; pursue investment options including a second community share offer; help us with marketing and communication, especially using social media; prepare BCSL and its governance in readiness for trading.
It is quite thrilling to have received the interest and support of Big Potential, a public endorsement of our work so far and our aspirations.
And while that was happening…
A huge thank you to Jo Radcliffe who has set up a JustGiving site and managed to get us some welcome publicity on Radio Gloucestershire. Do spread the work to your friends and contacts, lots of small amounts will add up to a significant sum. Find the page here
Thank you once again to tea servers at Chastleton, we raised another £600 in September. And a hearty thank you to everyone who turned out earlier this month to help tidy the site.
All are welcome to attend the 2017 AGM of Bledington Community Shop Limited at 10am on Saturday 14 October in the Village Hall. This is your chance to ask your questions.
