2014 Village Fete

Jun 07 2014, 1:00pm - 5:30pm BST

Ploughman's lunches are available in the Village Hall from 12 - followed during the day by teas in the hall & ice-creams, drinks, & a BBQ on the green.

The official opening is at 1.  Stalls include cakes, plants, books, bottles, china & glass, white elephants - & this year a handbag stall - as well as the School's arts & crafts, tombola & tuck.  Games include Aunt Sally, bowls, coconuts, fishing, hoop-la, jousting, skittles, slack-line & others - as well as guessing the weight of a cake, & meeting & guessing something about a recently-born calf.

There is a dog show at 2.30, School Maypole dancing & jazz - & a Grand Raffle.

The Fete ends with a tug-of-war competition across the brook at 4.45: advance entry (& £5 fee) - & immortality on the Bledington Shield for the winning team.

The Fete needs volunteers, for stalls & admin (please ring Jeremy Gould on 658503), for setting up & organising games (Robert Pearson on 659972), & for baking cakes for the cake stall (please deliver to the hall after 10): newcomers are especially welcome.

It's a wonderful day for children, for all the family - including grandparents, & godparents - & for inviting friends: please bring them all.

WE only have 3 tickets left for the Craig Ogden concert on Wednesday! There may be some at the King's Head or at Kingham Stores. There are some at the Borzoi Bookshop in Stow and at Jaffe & Neale in Chipping Norton. Tickets are still available from us for the other 2 concerts.
